Almost Famous

私のお気に入り映画は"Almost Famous"です。この映画はRock n'Roll　バンドのはなしがはなしますが、でもこのはなしは十八歳の男の子からきます。この映画のバンドはきびしせいかつがいますがいつも有名のゆめがあります。男の子はバンドを見る時にたくさんならいました。バンドの人はすごい見たいですが、よくわるいことをします。映画の終わる時、なにも有名になりませんでしたが男の子とバンドはせいかつにたくさんならいました。ほんとうにこの映画がすばらしいですよ！

さらい週ヂズニイへ行きます。こどものときにヂズニイはわたしの一番好きなところでした。十年前に行きました。こんどかぞくといく、ゆっくりするのために。四日に行きます。ふゆはとてもたいへんでしたから、あたたかいところへいかなければなりません。そのあと、学校へ帰ります

About Communication

This project has numerous potential benefits for us moving forward. We can expect to improve our linguistic skills, as we will have to use practical applications of the language we learn in the classroom. It will also be an interesting project in time management, as we will have to juggle the schedules of 4 people with unique and substantial time commitments. Most importantly I expect to learn the limitations of my Japanese language skills to this point, as in this real life setting I will want to communicate ideas that I cannot yet express.

Communication is the expression and understanding of ideas or emotions between to or more people or animals. Language is an effective mode of communication if it is properly mastered, as are nonverbal cues such as body language.

わたしのしゅみわよむことです。こどものときからたくさん読みます。おにいさんはよくよみましたから、わたしはよみなければなりませんでした。今、毎週あたらしい本をよみます。こんしゅう"The Brothers Karamazov"をよんでいます。ながい本ですが、すごいです。

ふゆ休みはたのしかったです。たくさんねました。かぞくとあいましたから、クリスマスはよかったです。一月にハワイにいきたいでしたが、たくさんゆきがふりましたから、いきませんでした。たいへんですね？だから、NYC　でまいにちたくさんはたらきました。いそがしかったですから、ハワイをわすれました。

Me, 20 years from now post:

いまニューヨークにいます。こうこうのきょうしです。かぞくはつまとこどもが三人います。毎朝しごとへ行きます。あとでこどもとそとであそびます。つまはたくさんはたらきますから、わたしはばんごはんをつくります。そのあとちょっとテレビをみます。そしてねます。

しゅうまつはたのしいでした。月曜日と火曜日はやすみました。しごとがたくさんありましたから、しごとのあと、ともだちとセントラル公園へいきました。きれいなところですよ。あきのなかに木はとてもすてきですよ！

日本の旅行

わたしのにほんのときにはとてもおもしろいときでした。東京と京都と大阪へいきました。東京はたのしいでしたが、とてもにぎやかでした。東京のとき、あまりねませんでした。京都でたくさんお寺へいきあした。お寺はすてきです！あとで大阪そもうさんをみました。すもうさんはおおきいひとですね。

まいにちとてもいそがしいです。くじはんにおきます。そのあとじゅうじからごじまでクラスがあります。そしてしごとへいきます。ごごじゅうじからじうにじまでべんきょうします。じゅうにじにねます。

I originally developed an interest in Japanese last year when I left Columbia and lived in Hawaii for the year. I tutored for a family with a child who studied Japanese, so I taught myself a little bit so that I could help him practice, and I would use the little Japanese I knew to talk with Japanese tourists as well. I found the language to be engaging rather than discouraging because it was challenging, so I enjoyed learning it much more than I had enjoyed learning Spanish previously. I have some interest in Japanese literature and tv/film as well, so the idea of being able to understand those two mediums in their original language is enticing to me. I also took an 11 day vacation to Japan in the Spring of last year, and I was enchanted by the culture and the experience. My greatest challenge thus far in learning the language has been learning how to write characters as well as remembering all of the small grammatical details that are easy to leave out or make errors on.
